Lycogala epidendrum - not a fungus!

Description

A slime mould or myxogastrid amoeba - Lycogala epidendrum, also called wolf's milk or Groening's slime, is often mistaken for a fungus. The aethalia, or fruiting bodies, are small, pink to brown cushion-like blobs which mature to a brown - grey. Both shown side by side in this photograph.
